Veterinary Clinical Sciences Visiting Program
Visitors are individuals under the direct supervision and guidance of an OSU Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty member during observational clinical activities including patient exams, rounds, special procedures and surgeries.
Hands-on clinical experience is strictly prohibited due to compliance with Ohio Law, state licensure requirements and University liability insurance. This program will not satisfy the requirements of PAVE or ECFVG programs.

Prohibited Tasks:
- Direct work on client animals
- Drawing blood
- Dispensing medications
- Performing clinical testing
- Enter charges into patient records
- Receive and/or process payments
- Work with steam hydraulics, electricity
- Drive or operate heavy equipment and/or motor vehicles.
Eligible Populations
Students enrolled in non-AVMA schools, interns, residents, fellow, graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, faculty from other colleges and universities, DVM practitioners and scientists in the industry who do not require Visa sponsorship.
Types of Visitors, Fees and Required Documentation
Short Term Visitor
- Allowable Length of Visit: Up to 1 Week
- Fee: $250

Visiting Scholar
- Allowable Length of Visit: Minimum of 2 weeks, maximum of 2 months
- Fee: $350 + $100 for each additional week
- Required Documentation:

- CV
- Proof of rabies vaccination or titer within the last 12 months
- Proof of personal health insurance
- Proof of professional liability insurance
Other Requirements
- All visitors will be asked to complete a background check. Background check information will be sent once the applications is processed and approved.
- Visitors are responsible for all financial obligations associated with their visit including but not limited to travel arrangement, parking permits, housing arrangements etc.
