Karin Zuckerman, assistant dean for Clinical Programs and director of the Veterinary Medical Center, has been selected as a University Distinguished Staff Award honoree and named this year’s recipient of the Dr. Michael V. Drake President’s Award by the University Human Resources Distinguished Staff Award selection committee.
In her ten years with the college, the many things Karin has accomplished and contributed have had substantial benefits to patients, clients, students, staff, faculty and referring veterinarians. These accomplishments include helping to modernize and expand clinical facilities, enhancing the client experience, improving relationships with and communications to our referring veterinarian partners, increasing clinical caseload, growing revenue, improving workflow efficiencies, increasing the number of staff, adapting to an ever-changing environment (including to the COVID-19 pandemic) and acquiring new equipment and technologies.
The Distinguished Staff Award annually honors 12 staff members for their outstanding achievements, service, leadership, and dedication to the university, and it is the highest honor bestowed upon staff at the university since its inception in 1984. Beginning last year, one outstanding Distinguished Staff Award recipient is awarded the Dr. Michael V. Drake President’s Award, a special award of distinction that recognizes a nominee who demonstrates university values, as well as an exceptional commitment to diversity, community engagement, affordable education and access for all students.
