The college honors the outstanding work of our research, teaching and clinical faculty through a collection of awards each year. Our people are our greatest asset and these awards are just one way the college recognizes their dedication to our ambition to Be The Model® comprehensive college of veterinary medicine in the world.
Zoetis Award for Veterinary Research Excellence
The purpose of this award is to foster innovative research on which the scientific advancement of the veterinary profession depends. The award recognizes outstanding research effort and productivity by principal investigators whose research conducted over the past three years has attained or is likely to attain national recognition. The nomination by a faculty member will consist of a nominating statement, curriculum vitae, and pertinent reprints or manuscripts. No more than 3 publications will be accepted.

This award recognizes a faculty member of the College of Veterinary Medicine for excellence in graduate and/or advanced education/training. William L. Ingalls Award for Exceptional Service
This award recognizes individuals who have provided exceptional service above and beyond expectations, to the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University. Nominees for the award shall have demonstrated continued dedication to the College and will have had a sustained positive impact on it's people, programs, and/or operations through a commitment to selfless service. Such individuals should also epitomize the qualities of Dr. Ingalls including integrity, fairness, dedication, and mentorship as evident in his resume. John Lyman Jr. Award for Clinical Teaching Excellence
This award is given in recognition of sustained excellence in providing a student-centered environment for clinical education exemplifying compassion, innovation, enthusiasm, and ethics in veterinary medicine. Awardees should actively support the clinical teaching environment through their work with students, clients, and patients through primary, ancillary, and/or diagnostic services. The award was established in 2004 by Dr. Ron Lyman, class of 1977, to honor his father, Dr. John Lyman Jr.

Professional Program Teaching Honor Roll
The Honor Roll was initiated during the 2017-2018 academic year to recognize those teaching in the professional program who consistently attain high student evaluation of instruction (SEI) data while carrying a teaching load in the Preclinical Core, Preclinical Elective, or Clinical curriculum that is equal to or above average.
