Ali Gardner Appointed Associate Dean for Education and Student Success

Following a national search, The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine has appointed Ali Gardner, DVM, MS, as associate dean for education and student success.
Gardner has served as interim associate dean since November 2025, providing collaborative leadership while advancing key educational initiatives and strengthening student success efforts across the college.
A board-certified large animal surgeon and emergency and critical care specialist, Gardner brings extensive experience in veterinary education, curriculum development, admissions, clinical skills education, faculty development and student support. She is widely recognized as an accomplished educator, award-winning teacher and respected academic leader.
"Dr. Gardner has demonstrated a deep commitment to our students, faculty, staff and educational mission," Dean Rustin Moore said. "Throughout her time as interim associate dean, she has provided thoughtful and steady leadership while helping to strengthen our DVM program and advance important educational initiatives. Her experience, expertise and vision make her exceptionally well suited for this role."
In her this position, Gardner will oversee the college's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum and educational programs, with a continued focus on academic excellence, student success and preparing graduates to meet the evolving needs of the veterinary profession.
Since joining Ohio State, Gardner has made significant contributions to veterinary education through leadership in curriculum innovation, admissions, clinical skills training and mentoring initiatives. Her commitment to fostering student development and supporting faculty excellence has helped advance the college's educational mission and strengthen the student experience.
