Precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in people and animals

In an effort to ensure a safe environment for all animal owners, visitors and VMC team members, we ask that you please avoid visiting our hospitals if you are currently experiencing flu-like symptoms, including a fever greater than 100.4 degrees and a cough, or if you or someone you have been in contact with have travelled to an affected area within the last 14 days. If your animal has an upcoming appointment, please call us and we will be happy to get you rescheduled at a later date.

If you are ill or have exposure, have a veterinary emergency and cannot find someone to bring your animal to the hospital, please call ahead and inform us of your health status so that we may prepare for your animal’s visit. For dog and cat emergencies, please call (614)292-3551. For farm and equine emergencies, please call (614)292-6661.

With regard to bringing your animal to the VMC for an appointment, we encourage you to please limit the number of client/owners to one per patient.

Please be assured, within our hospitals, we are conducting frequent cleanings and using appropriate disinfectants to help protect our hospital environment. Our clinicians, staff and students continue to practice safe hand hygiene, with clinical teams also wearing personal protective equipment as warranted.  We are paying increased attention to social distancing and ask that you do the same during your visit.

We ask all visitors to our hospitals to please practice preventive measures such as hand washing/sanitizing and covering coughs using your sleeves or a disposable tissue. Together we will help ensure everyone’s personal safety.

We thank you for your understanding, patience and cooperation. Your help is greatly needed to ensure our hospitals remain operational during this time.
