Patient Visits

Small and Large Animal Visits

While we encourage clients to visit their pets while in the hospital, please know it is important to arrange your visit in advance and have it approved by the assigned clinician(s). This is to ensure that the visit does not interfere with patient treatment. There may be times when the clinician advises against a visit for a specified period of time or puts strict limits on the visit. These restrictions must be followed in order not to jeopardize your animal's recovery.

Small Animal Visits

Please contact the student or clinician in charge of your animal's care to arrange a visit.

Large Animal/ Equine Visits

Equine visiting hours are:

  • 12 p.m.- 1 p.m.
  • 4 p.m.- 5 p.m.
  • 7 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Other hours can be arranged with clinician approval. Non-equine farm animal visiting hours are 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. With clinician approval, evening hours can be arranged.

During regular hours, please check in at the appropriate reception desk. If you are visiting after "regular" business hours (after 6 p.m.), please check in at the Small Animal emergency desk to let a receptionist know you are here.

Visits are restricted to immediate family members, unless other arrangements are made. Please note the restrictions of patient care areas to individuals who have been overseas recently; this is a mandatory precaution against Foot and Mouth Disease.
