Non-domestic animal medicine - Marine Mammals, Bird, Fishes, Reptiles, Amphibians and sometimes, invertebrates.
Students participate in animal husbandry practices, clinical rounds, and veterinary diagnostic and surgical procedures. Clinical case exposure will depend on the present case load. Students are encouraged to select the months of January through June for SeaWorld of California, in order to experience the avian breeding and the beached animal seasons, and November through April for SeaWorld of Texas. Any month is acceptable for SeaWorld of Florida.

This is a non-funded program. Students must arrange for their own transportation and living accommodations. Students participating in this preceptorship program will be required to:
(1) sign a release waiving all claims arising from property loss or any injuries sustained by student while participating in the program
(2) provide proof of personal medical insurance
(3) comply with SeaWorld's substance abuse program, which may include providing a hair or urine sample for substance abuse testing
Our Veterinarians are available every day at any time, except when they are in meetings or offsite.
