Indianapolis Veterinary Emergency and Referral

Emergency
and specialty hospital offering experience in small animal emergency
and critical care, internal medicine, oncology, surgery, and
rehabilitation. Typical externships will consist of 1 week of emergency
experience and 1 week of specialty experience, though exclusive
emergency, internal medicine or surgery externiships could be arranged.
Students would be scheduled for 40 hours/week and would include some
evening and weekend hours.
During
a 2 week externship, the student will spend approximately half their
time working with the emergency doctors seeing cases, formulating and
facilitating work-ups and participating in daily rounds. They will
spend the other half dividing their time between internal medicine and
surgery and will have the opportunity to interact with clients,
formulate and implement plans, assist in surgery or with diagnostic
imaging or endoscopy.
