Figure 6B. While grasping the freed edge, the epithelial "cuff" is elevated both rostrally and caudally (the epithelium is shown elevated partially on the caudal aspect) from the osseous ear canal beginning at the notched area. The ridge of bone separating the EAM from the stylomastoid foramen is now well exposed.
