Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden

Zoo animal medicine and surgery
Student
will participate in all aspects of clinical zoo medicine and surgery,
including physical exams, diagnostics, clinical laboratory procedures,
necropsies and record keeping. There will be opportunities to work with
CREW (Center for Research of Endangered Wildlife).
Three full time veterinarians on staff at the zoo hospital.
Students
will have access to the computer to enter records and search on-line.
Journals, textbooks and medical files are available.
Students are asked to do a clinical case presentation at the end of the externship.
The student will have direct and free access to veterinarians 8-10 hours/day for 5-7 days a week.
