Small animal general practice

1-2 Full time veterinarians per work day
  • Various veterinary textbooks
  • Veterinary Information Network (VIN)
  • Shadow mentor doctor during their work week
  • Actively participate in working up cases and developing treatment plans alongside their mentor doctor
  • Assist with anesthetic monitoring
  • Help perform diagnostics
  • Interpretation of bloodwork, radiographs and various other diagnostic tests
Each student extern will shadow the mentor Doctor's schedule and should expect to work 11-12 hour days, 4 days per week for a total of approximately 45 hours per week.
