"One Health" explores efforts to address the links between animal health, human health, and our environment.
At Ohio State, the concept of one health allows us to address a triple threat to health in an integrated way. The College of Veterinary Medicine recognizes the importance of addressing issues in animal health, human health and environmental health. We are expanding several programs to meet the challenges in all three areas.
The One Health Initiative is a national effort that is bringing together "collaborative efforts of multiple disciplines working locally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal health for people, animals, plants and our environment."

Clinical Trials Office
The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) provides assistance in the design, execution, and evaluation of veterinary clinical trials of client owned animals.
Signature research programs
Signature Research Programs across the college bring together researchers in similar areas from different departments to share research projects, programs and future plans.
Center for Retrovirus Research
The Center for Retrovirus Research (CRR) investigates problems relating to prevention and treatment of retrovirus diseases of animals and man. A major center initiative is the Program Project Grant (PPG), a $9.8 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to investigate retroviral models of cancer.
Food Animal Health and Research Program
The Food Animal Health and Research Program focuses on emerging pathogens, zoonoses, and microbial contamination of food and the environment that threaten agricultural productivity, sustainability, and public health worldwide.

Applied Field Epidemiology meeting
The Applied Field Epidemiology meetings are hosted monthly in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine and include representatives from the Ohio Department of Agriculture, as well local, county and state health departments, University Extension, the College of Veterinary Medicine and others.
Master's of Public Health - Veterinary Public Health
With a great need for public health professionals with the knowledge and skills to address the problems of zoonotic and foodborne diseases, the College of Veterinary Medicine together with the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University offer the country's first Master of Public Health, Veterinary Public Health degree.

More than 125 public health and infectious disease experts drive the Public Health Preparedness for Infectious Diseases program at The Ohio State University.

Founded in 1885, The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine is ranked fifth in the nation and includes more than 1,000 faculty, staff and students in the Departments of Veterinary Biosciences, Veterinary Clinical Sciences, and Veterinary Preventive Medicine.
