Dr. Raphael Malbrue, Assistant Professor of Laboratory Animal Medicine in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, was one of seven 2018 Wellness Leadership Award recipients at Ohio State University this year. Dr. Malbrue initiated a wellness committee in the department, communicates regularly with staff on wellness opportunities and encourages wellness by planning outside of work social events. He is also a member of the College of Veterinary Medicine's Health and Wellness Initiative Task Force.
Buckeye Wellness promotes innovative and evidence-based wellness program, offering solutions for a healthy life, based on the nine dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Career, Social, Intellectual, Spiritual, Physical, Financial, Creative and Environmental. The program focuses on awareness and education, programs, activities and events.
The Wellness Leadership Awards are given to a chair, dean, vice president, manager or supervisor who supports health and wellness activities in their respective unit. Individuals are nominated by their colleagues in recognition of their efforts to create a culture and environment surrounding health and wellness. The recipients are rewarded funds to implement future health and wellness endeavors.
