Thank you for those of you that helped LGVMA lobby our AVMA to include gender identity and gender expression in their updated non-discrmination policy. Our old-fashioned letter writing campaign worked! Yesterday, the AVMA leadership team voted unanimously to include both categories.
AVMA CEO Dr. Janet Donlin said,"A big thank-you...to all of our colleagues who provided their thoughtful input on this important policy. Your input was critical in ensuring we netted out a policy that appropriately reflects our values- and the professional/personal respect all of our collegues and clients deserve. This is now official AVMA policy."
Please consdier a letter of gratitude to Dr. Donlin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This poicy updaet is part of the greater veterinary wellness movement spearheaded by our AVMA for each of us. Only together do we help each other, ourselves, our profession and our clients.
