VMC Enhancement and Expansion

The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center Hospital for Companion Animals has experiecned a 40 percent increase in patient visits in the past six years. In order to continue to provide outstanding care for our patients and support for our clients, we must expand and improve our building. Our plans include an addition to accommodate faculty offices and conference rooms, allowing for a complete renovation of existing office space to develop a new lobby and waiting area.

Features of the new lobby in the Hospital for Companion Animals

  • New reception desk
  • Separate waiting areas for cats and dogs
  • Designated spaces to accomodate children's activities, refreshments, and a "quiet area"  
  • Easy access to Wi-fi
  • Access to a new courtyard
  • Addition of more than 20 exam rooms
  • New entrance to accommodate behavioral cases

Other highlights of the Enhancement and Expansion:

  • New conference rooms
  • Updated Intensive Care Unit
  • Emergency room/triage space 
  • Improved surgery suites 
  • New clinical areas for specialty services
