Purpose The purpose of this clinical trial is to establish the effectiveness and safety of the Harmonic Aries Blade (Ethicon Inc.) in dogs with spontaneous disk disease requiring decompressive surgery. Background

Oncology/Radiation Oncology

May 9, 2011 - 2:54pm
The Purpose The goal of this study is to assess efficacy of Palladia and Vinblastine combined for treatment of canine transitional cell carcinoma and to compare computerized tomography and ultrasound for measurement of tumor response.
August 18, 2011 - 2:17pm
Purpose  The goal of this study is to determine if canine mast cell tumors with kit mutation respond better to Palladia and whether screening for kit mutations play a role in treatment decision-making.
April 11, 2012 - 9:17am
Purpose The purpose of this trial evaluating three structurally related chemotherapy drugs to to define their safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamic modulation.
August 6, 2013 - 3:46pm
Purpose of Study This is a multicenter, open-label, dose-escalation study evaluating the activity of ACP-196 given to dogs with B-cell lymphoma and melanoma.
November 14, 2013 - 1:56pm
Purpose The primary objective of this clinical trial is to determine whether Palladia is capable of inhibiting JAK activity in tumors in dogs.
January 15, 2014 - 10:43am
Purpose The goal of this study is to evaluate VDC-1101 when administered to dogs with lymphoma as a single infusion once every 21 days with concurrent low-dose prednisone is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this dosage and protocol. Background
April 9, 2014 - 12:10pm
Purpose The goal of this multi-centered trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of toceranib for the treatment of dogs with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung, and to evaluate markers in the blood that may help to determine which dogs will benefit most from toceranib treatment.
April 14, 2014 - 12:52pm
Purpose To determine whether adding tetrathiomolybdate (TM) to standard chemotherapy treatment for OSA after limb amputation will help to prevent or slow the growth of tumor spread in the lungs of affected dogs.

April 19, 2012 - 5:00pm
Purpose of Study The purpose of this study is to obtain BAER data from normal hearing CKCS dogs between the ages of 1 to 2 years old with no history of hearing loss.  This is a 2-day study.  Procedures performed include hearing testing (BAER test), a Computed Tomography (CT) scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); study pays for all testing.

December 3, 2012 - 9:16am
Purpose of Study The purpose of this study is to adapt several tests of sensory and motor function commonly used in rodent SCI models for dogs and to assess the utility and reliability of these tests in measuring recovery from SCI in dogs
February 13, 2013 - 12:16pm
Purpose and Brief Explanation of Study: In both dogs and people with Chiari malformation/syringomyelia (CM/SM), there is a high documented incidence of hyperesthesia (lowered pain threshold). The purpose of this study to validate the use of a sensory threshold test, von Frey anesthesiometry (VFA), for use in dogs withCM/SM. First we must determine what constitutes a normal response using VFA in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (CKCS), then we will compare that response to what is seen in CKCS with CM/SM.

Critical Care

February 11, 2013 - 12:50pm
Purpose The purpose of this clinical trial is to assess the effectiveness of thromboelastography in dogs receiving blood transfusions.
November 15, 2013 - 3:39pm
Purpose This study explores the effect that red blood cells and whole blood viscosity (“thickness”) have on a diagnostic technique called Thromboelastography (TEG), so the limitations or biases of the instrument may be better understood and interpreted in a clinical setting.
November 15, 2013 - 3:42pm
Purpose To evaluate canine gastric serosa microcirculation in patients undergoing anesthesia for routine ovariohysterectomy and prophylactic gastropexy, and determine correlation between gastric serosal and buccal mucosal microcirculatory parameters
November 15, 2013 - 3:45pm
Purpose To evaluate the gastric serosal microcirculation in canine patients with naturally occurring GDV and to determine if buccal mucosa microcirculation or systemic parameters may serve as a surrogate, and compare gastric microcirculatory assessment to intra-operative determination of tissue viability.
