Your Visit

The Blue Buffalo Veterinary Clinical Trials Office (BBVCTO) coordinates studies ranging from heart problems, eye diseases, cancer to neurological problems, all in pursuit of life-saving discoveries.

Maggie&ownerIn most cases, some or all of the expenses associated with treatment are covered by the sponsors of the study.

Additionally, many studies provide a credit at the Veterinary Medical Center for continued care of the patient after the study is complete.

All the requirements necessary for entering and participating in a clinical trial will be carefully explained to you in advance, and a consent form must be signed before the patient can be officially entered.  Some clinical trials are relatively short (2-6 weeks) while others may be conducted over several months.

For patients enrolled in clinical trials, care is overseen by both veterinary specialists as well as staff members in the BBVCTO who have extensive experience with patients participating in clinical trials.  While paitents are enrolled in a clinical trial, visits are typically coordinated by the BBVCTO staff, and efforts are made to ensure that quality of life is maintained or enhanced during the study.

If you feel your pet could benefit from one of our clinical trials, or you wish to learn mor about a specific study, please contact the BBVCTO at 614-292-4559 or 614-247-8706 or via email at cvm-clinicaltrials@osu.edu
