T: (Temp)
The T: drive is for the transfer of documents and data among CVM Domain users or as an informal temporary workspace. Domain users include faculty, staff, and students. There are no restrictions on who can create and access directories and files. Each Sunday at midnight, the contents of the Temp drive are automatically deleted. Executable (.exe) and zip (.zip) files may not be stored on the T: drive.
U: (User)
The U: drive contains the personal user directory of every CVM Domain user. The directories are secured so that they can only be accessed by their owner.
Quota Policy: The amount of data that can be stored in each user directory is fixed (quota). Warnings will be generated when the soft quota is reached. Once the hard quota is reached, no additional files can be saved to the user directory. The V: drive is for shared folders used by departmental or intradepartmental workgroups. Access to the directories on this drive is restricted to workgroup members only.
Shared directories and workgroups are created and maintained by VIS staff. Requests for a new shared directory or changes to an existing directory can be submitted to VIS at vishelp [at] cvm [dot] osu [dot] edu.Provided the equipment is college owned, on CVM campus, and currently supported, you will require NetExtender. This software can be installed remotely in many instances and may be requested through vishelp [at] cvm [dot] osu [dot] edu.
If you are using college owned equipment outside the CVM campus, regardless of whether you haev LAN or WLAN, you will require access to our virtual private network (VPN).
