The overarching goal of the Immunology Round Table is to foster interactive and collaborative discussions amongst immunologists and immunology researchers for the purposes of enhancing human and animal health. Both formal and informal discussions will include recent advances, techniques, resources and current literature which serve to promote an interdisciplinary approach in immunology and biomedical research. Participating faculty and researchers represent a diverse group of individuals within the biomedical community and public health sector.
Interdisciplinary Research Areas
Recognized interdisciplinary areas include host immune response to pathogens (viral, bacterial and parasitic), cancer immunology, autoimmunity, allergy, inflammation, mucosal immunology and psychoneuroimmunology.
Participating members include faculty and researchers within the biomedical community that take discoveries from bench to bedside. Members hail from the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, and Natural and Mathematical Sciences, hospitals including the OSU Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospitals, and the Ohio Agriculture and Research Development Center.
