Research Summary

My research focuses on the use of epidemiology and molecular techniques to investigate disease transmission in human and animal populations, with a particular emphasis on animal-human (zoonotic) pathogen transmission and methods for prevention and control.

Areas of specific interest include:

  • Knowledge, attitudes and practices related to pet contact and associated zoonoses.
  • Changing high-risk behaviors of pet-owning households.
  • Surveillance, prevention and control of infectious diseases in veterinary facilities.
