Dr. Rosol maintains an active, NIH-funded research laboratory that uses molecular, in vitro, and in vivo techniques to investigate the pathogenesis of human and animal cancers. Specifically, the laboratory develops animal models of cancer to study the pathogenesis of bone metastasis, cancer-associated hypercalcemia, and human HTLV-1-induced T-cell lymphoma. The Rosol laboratory has developed mouse models of human cancer that mimic metastases in humans and are used to investigate the pathogenesis and treatment of metastasis. New laboratory expertise has been developed for in vivo imaging of cancer in mouse models using bioluminescence, high resolution ultrasound, and near infrared imaging of molecular markers.
