Veterinary Biosciences

Pathology Residency/PhD Graduate Program

Welcome to the Department of Veterinary Biosciences. We are one of three departments that make up the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University.

The college is a member of one of the most comprehensive health sciences centers in the United States, which includes the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. This provides a rich environment in which to pursue our departmental mission: to discover mechanisms of disease. We use this knowledge to educate others and to develop and utilize tools for disease diagnosis, treatment, and intervention to improve the health of animals and humans. We help to provide the foundation of the pre-clinical and pathology curriculum to veterinary professional students. We help to develop the next generation of scientists and clinician scientists by educating and graduating PhD students. And we advance the future of veterinary pathology by training and mentoring board-certified veterinary pathologists.

Santosh Dhakal, DVM, MS, Phd Candidate in the Food Animal Health Research Program at Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, has been selected as a Presidential Fellow by The Ohio State University Graduate School.
