Dr. Molla's research has been in the area of veterinary public health (food safety, antimicrobial resistance and zoonoses) with particular emphasis on the epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance of non-typhoidal Salmonella and methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Currently he is working on:

  • Biocide and heavy metal micronutrient intervention in swine production and their epidemiological association with the occurrence and persistence of multi-drug resistant Salmonella
  • Occurrence and molecular epidemiology of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) on farm, at slaughter and pork.
