The University has the mandate from the government of Ethiopia to train professionals at Masters and PhD levels that will serve as instructors in the recently established universities in the country. OSU signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Addis Ababa University in 2010 and OSU is actively involved in the teaching of PhD students at the Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology (ALIPB) since 2009. As part of institutional capacity strengthening collaboration, currently three of ALIPBā€™S Faculty are at OSU for a sandwich PhD program.  While ALIPB is the primary coordinator of this initiative, other relevant units within AAU including the School of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and School of Public Health will remain primary collaborators and active participants in the VPH-Biotech Global Consortium.
