Clinical track position at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine to provide health management and emergency services to herds owned by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC). This is a 100% bovine (Dairy, Cow-calf and Feedlot) position. Our client, the ODRC is a vertically integrated operation with 8 cattle farms, a dairy processing center and a beef processing center located around Ohio producing milk and meat for the prison population.
Our service is responsible for all veterinary medical needs including on call shifts for nights and weekends for the ODRC farms; the faculty member works directly with, and coordinates teaching and clinical research activities between, the administration of the ODRC and faculty in the college. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of veterinary students in health management practices, safe food production and veterinary economics. Faculty is responsible for coordinating an elective two week clinical rotation and participating in teaching in both the core VPM rotation and the elective Advanced Preventive Medicine rotation.
