Description
The externship program at Woodside Equine Clinic will provide a comprehensive learning curve in all aspects of an advanced and progressive equine clinic. The high volume caseload will enhance the individuals clinical competency, diagnostic skills and communication skills. Information will be provided by 7 experienced clinicians/veterinarians in the fields of lameness, surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, reproduction, acupuncture and chiropractic, as well as advanced dentistry.

Woodside Equine Clinic offers rounds with our in-house veterinary staff at the beginning of each workday.
Responsibilities
All externs with Woodside Equine Clinic will be expected to assist the interns with treatment of hospital cases; assist clinicians in diagnostic and therapeutic care of hospital cases and out-patients; assist clinicians on ambulatory calls. This will include emergency cases.
Student Supervision
Practice will ensure that the student has the opportunity to spend equal time with each clinician and participate in all activities. The primary goal is to give the student in-depth exposure to the type of experience available as an intern.
