College of Veterinary Medicine

3 doctor small animal practice located in an urban/suburban setting 35 miles west of New York City in New Jersey. Student will be exposed to medical, surgical and dental cases in a busy small animal general practice well staffed with excellent veterinary technicians and three experienced veterinarians. There are also opportunities at two nearby referral facilities for continuing education and case presentations once monthly ( Oradell Animal Hospital and the Animal Emergency and Referral Associates).

Digital radiography, Idexx in-house blood analyzers, ultrasound machine,ECG machine,digital tonometry,dental scaler/polisher,electrocautery, pulse oximetry,blood pressure machine, and inhalation anesthesia. Our outside reference laboratory is Idexx with access to board-certified consultants by telephone.

• Veterinary medical journals, current medical and surgical textbooks, VIN, and Cornerstone softwear with Idexx.
• Continuing education opportunities available once monthly at 4 referral hospitals with board-certified veterinarians on staff (Oradell Animal hospital, Animal Emergency and Referral Associates , the Animal Medical Center and Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.
• Also a telephone consultation service with board-certified specialists at Idexx Laboratories.

Student would assist doctors with medical, surgical and dental cases. The student would also participate in daily rounds and offer input.

The student would be under the supervision of a veterinarian Monday thru Friday during business hours and on Saturdays 9 AM until 12 Noon.
