extern will rotate through the different departments of a busy
emergency and referral center. They are required to attend all rounds
including didactic lectures. The departments include, internal
medicine, emergency and critical care, neurology, cardiology and
surgery. Since there is an active internship program at the hospital,
teaching occurs throughout the day. There is a chance to spend time at a
sister hospital twenty miles away as well.
