An opportunity to get hands on experience in diagnostic laboratory medicine and pathology of food animals. There is also an opportunity for field investigation and food animal infectious disease research.
The SDSU Diagnostic Laboratory is AAVLD accredited full service laboratory. There are 7 pathologists, 10 infectious disease researchers and one extension veterinarian.
The SDSU library has an extensive collection of veterinary medicine books and periodicals along with an extensive electronic collection. Students can participate in diagnostic rounds.
The student is expected to participate in routine diagnostic investigations and necropsies.
The student will be able 6-8/hrs per day, 5 days a week of interaction with veterinarians.
