This elective experience will focus on small farm/hobby farms and the skills and knowledge needed to interact with these types of operations as opposed to large scale livestock production farms. Skills will include first time animal owners, housing, routine procedures, trouble shooting nutrition and billing.
The student will be expected to come prepared with the same equipment and protective clothing as the regular Marysville students. He/She will need to participate equally in the on call rotation and may be asked to participate in morning seminars. Depending on the time of year and the current cases, the student may be excused from morning seminars to work on a herd health or vaccination plan for a small farm.
