College of Veterinary Medicine

Accompany veterinarians on routine herd visits, health checks, be involved in collecting diagnostics, and also be involved in evaluation of production records.

Students are expected to be willing to participate and eager to learn. Thet are also expected to be involved in any on-farm diagnostic collection and walk-through herd visits as well as assist with any activities at the clinic.

Students will almost always be accompanying a veterinarian to farms unless time is set up in advance for the student to gain production experience on a farm. Students will have access to a veterinarian on average for about 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, and even more in instances where there are calls to go on before and after hours.
