participate in all aspects of veterinary care at the Phoenix zoo, which
houses a collection of over 1,200 animals covering multiple taxa
including avian, reptile, amphibian, mammal, and fish.

veterinarian is always available to the extern when they are on
grounds. Most students work ~8 hours per day and 5 days a week although
they are encouraged to come in on days off if there is a special
procedure to witness.
