Student will be given the opportunity to observe and participate in the fields of surgery, exotic animal medicine, emergency/critical care, and general small animal practice.

Associate Veterinarians and special expertise available
- Dr. Pat Denney - board eligible surgeon with an interest in orthopedics
- Dr. Andrew Voell - certified ultrasonographer with an interest in opthalmology
- Dr. Meredith Davis - board eligible in avian medicine
- Several veterinarians with experience and interest in emergency/critical care and internal medicine
Educational Resources
Student will have access to well stocked library and computer access to journal articles. Student will participate in doctor rounds and any continuing education activities scheduled during externship.
Responsibilities
Student will be expected to observe and participate in the care and treatment of exotic animals, emergency/critical care cases, and general small animal practice. Student will be expected to learn current veterinary medicine protocols, as well as client communication.
Student Supervision
Student will be studying approximately 8 to 9 hours per day, 5 days per week.
