American College of Veterinary PathologistsAbout the Club

The OSU Student Chapter of the ACVP provides veterinary students the opportunity to explore the exciting field of veterinary pathology through hands-on wetlabs, lunch lectures, and outreach events.  Recent club activities have included presentations on the comparative pathology/mouse phenotyping shared resource at OSU and on careers in zoo pathology, as well as a teaching wetlab for undergraduate pre-veterinary students.

Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - It's time to start thinking about the annual ACVP meeting. This year's meeting will be held in Seattle, WA from December 1st-5th. ACVP offers our club a $1000 travel grant so that our members can attend!! This is a great opportunity to network with pathologists from all over the country, listen to lectures on many pathology-related topics, and let's not forget, a FREE trip to Seattle!

Here is the meeting website for everyone to check out:  http://www.acvp.org/meeting/index.cfm

If you think you might be interested in attending the ACVP conference this year, please e-mail Beth Ihms (elizabethihms [at] gmail [dot] com) as soon as possible so that the numbers can be given to Dr. La Perle and secure our travel grant. The deadline on this is September 14th.

Additionally, if you have a pathology-related poster from a summer research project, etc that you would like to present at the meeting, let us know about that as well! This year there is a veterinary student poster competition - the deadline for submitting an abstract has been extended to September 10th. Submissions are online, and details are below:
