National Intitutes of Health, Div. of Veterinary Resources Pathology Service

The student will participate in gross necrospies of laboratory animals used in biomedical research at the NIH, under the direct supervision of a staff veterinary pathologist. In conjunction with staff pathologists the student will review histopathology from selected cases. The student will participate in weekly histopathology slide conferences and monthly journal club. The student will assist in the preparation of a histopathology conference case for submission to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Conference Set.
Five board certified veterinary pathologists on staff.
On site library containing current textbooks on general pathology, veterinary pathology and laboratory animal medicine and diseases. Computer access to NIH library resources and pubmed.

The student will have direct access to a staff veterinary pathologist each day during the entire course of the workday.
