Elective Course - CVM 5764 - Advanced Equine Reproduction
Informal lecture, handouts and reading assignments to review Endocrinology associated with the equine estrous cycle, pregnancy maintenance and lactation. Laboratory exercises will include diagnostic techniques utilized in breeding management (ultrasound, endometrial biopsy, cytology, culture, rectal palpation) as well as procedures such as artificial insemination and preparation and handling of chilled semen. Independent study on a problem or an area of itnerest would be encrouaged and supervised.
8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week in addition to some emergency and after-hours duty
The student is responsible for arranging housing.
