Hands on work with real time financial data from privately owned veterinary practice, including profit analysis, fee structure, compensation strategies, practice valuation methodogy. Veterinary practice tax and accounting reporting in accord with US law. Work with Dr. Heinke on various engagements in progress at time of internship, including telephone consultation and data accumulation projects, and structuring education for veterinarians, practice managers, and industry support.

CPA firm narrowly focused on veterinary practice support and partners in industry to the veterinary profession. Dr. Marsha Heinke is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, Certified Public Accountant, and Enrolled agent, in addition to being a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (OSU 1979).
Educational Resources
Intern will work daily with Dr. Heinke on projects on hand at time, including tax workpaper prep, research on line to regulatory agencies such as IRS, in house library, in addition to business valuation, practice financial analysis, etc.
Responsibilities
Active work on financial statement preparation, interpretation, business valuation, data compilation, assistance in preparing reports, structuring consulting engagement agreements, reading documents related to practice issues.
Student Supervision
6 hours per day/5 days per week.
