Description of Experience:
Food Animal Practice: morning herd checks (palpation & ultrasound); dystocias (fetotomies/C-cections), eye enucleations, RDA/LDA surgeries, consulting, computer records, etc.
Institutional Resources:
- theriogenologist
- 2 doctors with masters
Educational Resources:
- complete hardcopy library available at clinic
- access to online journal subscriptions
Responsibilities Expected of Participating Student:
Everything the doctors do: morning herd checks/palpations (200-400 cows/day) - palpating/ultrasound. Students also offered evening/weekend emergency shifts.
Student Supervision:
7-8 hours/day and if interested, evenings & weekends 7 days/week
