Shelter medicine, animal cruelty investigations, wildlife
High-volume spays and neuters (includes surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, procedures), large clinical case load including high volume of trauma (injured strays), foster appointments/rechecks, work closely with Texas Wildlife Rehab.

We have initiated a program as of June 2013 for a required clinical Shelter Medicine Rotation with Texas A&M Vet School . 6-8 Texas A&M fourth-year students will be rotating every 2 weeks. Any outside externs will be incorporated into this program.
VIN, daily rounds, textbooks
Students will be rotating between surgery, clinical case loads, large animal, wildlife, and cruelty cases/investigations. All externs should have complete a junior surgery rotation.
The rotation will be Monday through Saturday from 7a-7p. All students will have direct access to 2-5 staff veterinarians during this period.
