Poultry Elective

If you are interested, during your 4th year off-site elective experience, we provide a list of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine's previously approved locations.

If you choose not to work at any of the pre-approved sites, please find your own elective location and submit a request for approval through The College of Veterinary Medicine.

Description This externship is intended for veterinary students who have decided to persue a career in poultry medicine. Externs will have the opportunity to work in many areas of turkey breeder operation based on their goals and the company's focus.

Type of Experience: We are a broiler primary breeder company where the intern will be able to gain a number of experiences that will involve the health, clinical, welfare and husbandry practices.

Type of Experience: Hy-Line is a primary layer breeder company based in Des Moines and Dallas Center, Iowa. We employ several veterinarians in our tech service, research, and production departments.
