If you choose not to work at any of the pre-approved sites, please find your own elective location and submit a request for approval through The College of Veterinary Medicine.

Type of Experience:  Aquatic, Avian Medicine, Equine Practice Name:  Albuquerque Biopark Zoo  Description Experience:   This is a zoo collection of roughly 1,000 animals including reptiles, amphibians,birds, and a broad base of mammal species from elephants to naked mole rats. We also are responsible for the aquarium which has several thousand fish of multiple species. Description This externship takes place at both the Barberton Veterinary Clinic, a busy 3 doctor small animal, bird and exotic animal clinic, and at North Coast Bird and Exotic Specialties, a 2 doctor exotics only specialty practice within Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is a 24,000 square foot central hospital shared by more than 50 veterinarians from ten affiliated general practices, nine specialist practices and a 24-hour emergency service.
