It is our desire at CVC to help future veterinarians gain real world experience in a practical setting. As part of our commitment to excellence- we expect those that visit and work with us to share that same commitment.
If you have not been to the clinic previously, you may take a tour of the clinic by going to our website www.crossroadsvetclinic.com and click on the "take the tour" button on the home page. We have a state of the art facility and should provide you valuable experience.
Larry Kimberlin DVM, FAVD Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry
We have a state of the art facility.
This is a WORKING externship program - we will expect you to do what ever is needed as part of our team - we do not baby sit - we will allow you gain as much experience as possible according to your skill level - but you will be supervised at all times.
Externs may be used to help with emergencies and may help with critical care of hospitalized patients. We will try to provide the best hands on experience possible - but we have an extremely varied case load and the experience will vary from day to day. You may spend all day in surgery one day and all day seeing patients the next or out in the field.
We look forward to helping enthusiastic students realize their veterinary career dream and look forward to meeting and learning from you.
8-10 hours/day; 6 days per week
We have an intern room with a bed, television, shower and dining area for your comfort during your visit.

The closest airport if you are flying in is DFW - which is an hour away - if you fly in we will arrange to pick you up at the airport. The extern will be responsible for their transportation fees.
We will provide small stipend to cover food expenses during your stay. This will be discussed when final arrangements and selection to program has been made.
