The student will examine small animals with a variety of oral abnormalities. Routine bite evaluations, periodontal therapy and prophylaxis, oral radiography, endodontic, restorative, and some orthodontic treatments are routinely performed on referral animals. The student will assist in all procedures. The hospital is a Level 4 AAHA hospital located in a business park. There is access to a complete laboratory; surgical suite; dental, operatory, and radiology area; exam rooms; and well-equipped treatment area.
The student will examine small animals with a variety of oral abnormalities. Routine bite evaluations, periodontal therapy and prophylaxis, oral radiography, endodontic, restorative, and some orthodontic treatments are routinely performed on referral animals. The student will assist in all procedures. The student can expect to see 15-20 cases per week.
The student will have access the veterinarian approximately five hours a day.
