Mixed animal veterinary practice externship
Students are allowed to actively observe and in many cases participate in daily appointments, care of hospitalized patients, and assistance with after hours emergencies and critical care cases. Practice has a mixture of small animal, equine, and small ruminant/camelid clients. Equine practice is 50/50 between backyard/pleasure and performance horses.

very complete library of relative books, JAVMA, online access to most journals, biweekly rounds and journal club.
Students are expencted to participate in all activities on a daily basis from assisting the vet assistants and technicians with care of paitents to assisting veterinarians with appointments. Externs are expected to be available to assist with after-hours emergencies and care of critical patients.
9-12 hours per day, 6 days per week.
