Description

Comprehensive shelter medicine experience. We are an open intake shelter that takes in approx 45,000 animals/yr. Students will gain experience in high volume spay/neuter, emergency and critical care of sick/injured stray animals, orthopedic and spay/neuter surgeries. Students may also participate in cruelty investigations and forensic studies.

Associate Veterinarians and special expertise available

We have eight full time veterinarians on staff. We have a digital x-ray machine, in-house blood work and ultrasound.

Educational Resources

We have a small but decent library. Students also have access to a computer.

Responsibilities

Participate in surgeries, case work ups/discussions, assist in surgery as needed. Students may participate in daily morning rounds if they wish.

Student Supervision

We are open 7 days a week. Our veterinarians typically work 12 hour shifts. Students may participate 8-12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.
