College of Veterinary Medicine

The student will be supervised by several doctors during the their stay, assist in surgery and be allowed to "work up and manage" their own cases if warranted (under supervision). Our practice has digital radiography, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, reproduction services including semen freezing, ultrasound, dental equipment and radiography, and emergency procedures for clients (C-sections, GDV, foreign bodies, etc.). Additional experience can be accomplished by helping with the clinics rescue animals.

• Assist in treatments of in hospital patients and boarders.
• Assist doctors with initial physical exams during the day.
• Accompany veterinarians into the rooms and perform physical exams and procedures in which accompany a normal wellness visit (vaccines, heartworm diagnostics, radiography, hand scaling, ear cleaning, eye exams, etc.).
• Assist with surgeries/dental procedures throughout the day in which you are assigned.
• Expected to come for emergencies while with the practice.
