All aspects of treating small and large animals at a rural veterinary hospital: Soft
tissue surgeries, spays, neuters, tumor removals, enterotomy,
orthopedics, fracture repairs, ACL repairs, luxating patella repairs.
Also daily appointments requiring internal medicine, patient care and
business management, Small amount of farm travel but in hospital large
animal treatment and surgery.
Dual
surgical suite, digital radiography, in-house lab, large animal
treatment facility, dental equipment, laser surgery, ultrasound, video
otescope, doppler blood pressure, EKG pulse ox, tonovet, vet truck.

- An active county vet association that meets monthly.
- I would expect the student to work 45 hours per week and with emergencies as they occur.
- Professional attitude and attire.
- Student will be expected to take history and make a diagnosis and treatment plan and then discuss it with the case doctor before the doctor goes in to see the client and then discusses option with student listening.
- Assist in surgery with doctor supervision.
- Student will be expected to participate in all phases of a veterinary practice.
24
hours a day 7 days a week. Office hours are 6 am to 8 pm through the
week, 7 am to 3 pm on Saturday, emergency on-call is available at all
other times. This student will be under the specific direct supervision
of Dr. Darr. The student will also have direct access to 3 other vets
and 5 registered technicians 24-7. Our office is manned by vets from 6
AM to 8 PM with on call doctors all other times.
