College of Veterinary Medicine

This would be a rotating externship. Student would rotate with different doctors seeing out and in patient cases. The hospital is equipped with ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, otoscopy digital xray. The student can expect a busy outpatient load most seasons of the year. Student would not be unsupervised.

5 Associate veterinarians and 1 board certified internist. 2 of associate veterinarians have internships and all veterinarians have 10 or more years of experience. 8 certified techs on staff

We have a large up to date library and 30 plus computer terminals in hospital that are internet capable

Students expected to be here for regular business hours and maybe 1 or 2 evenings a week depending on supervising veterinarian. Students will be observing and asked questions and quizzed on their knowledge and approaches to medicine and surgery. No direct case management

Students would work 5-6 days a week and would be under doctor supervision while in hospital unless gaining technical skill from certified technicians
