Senior veterinary student Amanda Sherman will receive the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) Harold D. Wetterberg Foundation Veterinary Medicine Scholarship for the second year in a row.

The Class of 2012 was honored for the completion of their academic career on Saturday, June 9. Students were recognized at the Honors and Awards Ceremony where awards were given to those students who excelled in their clinical rotations. The College of Veterinary Medicine welcomed 138 new veterinarians into their chosen field at the annual Oath and Hooding ceremony.

Team Buckeye features Veterinary Medicine team captain

Dr. Michelle Harcha, director, Professional Development Education, is being featured for her support of Pelotonia, a grassroots effort to raise money for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Her commitment to fighting cancer drove her to become a team captain for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Her enthusiasm for the event, as well as her personal story, led organizers to choose her as a Team Buckeye spokeswoman.

Recognizing the Class of 2012

Faculty, family, friends, and staff gathered Saturday, June 9 to celebrate the achievements of Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2012. Student awards were announced at the Honors and Awards Ceremony on Saturday morning at the Fawcett Center and the traditional Oath and Hooding Ceremony took place that evening in Mershon Auditorium.

Ohio State Veterinarian featured on NPR’s “Dog Talk”

Dr. Alicia Bertone, the Trueman Chair in Equine Clinical Medicine and Surgery, appeared live on the April 26th segment of Dog Talk Radio. Dr. Bertone was interviewed about her recent study on C-PET platelet therapy use in dogs with osteoarthritis.
