White Coat Ceremony celebrates student learning

Veterinary students celebrated the completion of their third year of classroom learning at the "White Coat Ceremony," a formal ceremony signifying their entry in to the clinical portion of the DVM program, during which they received their white lab coats. The 2010 event was held at the Columbus Athenaeum, on March 27.

Ohio State Josh Project wins big at SAVMA

The Ohio State University Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA) raised money last year to purchase 250 Josh Kits for children facing pre-admission testing at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In addition to making a scary experience a little brighter for those kids, they were awarded first place at last month's SAVMA Symposium. They were recognized for raising more money than any other SCAVMA chapter in the country for the first time since the competition began. Students in SCAVMA hosted monthly bake sales and other fundraising events throughout the year.

Join our Komen for the Cure Team

Pink week activities being planned now

A College of Veterinary Medicine team has been formed for the Komen for the Cure walk/race scheduled for Saturday, May 15. The deadline to register online for the College of Veterinary Medicine team is April 23. To register, go to: www.komencolumbus.org and click on the "register today" button and the "join a team" button. The team name is "OSU College of Veterinary Medicine". No password is needed to register for the team. Usually about half of the team runs each year and the rest walk.
